One good news is regarding the airfoil of the rear door. This part is impossible to find and it seems it is in very good conditions!

Your Monza was done in which year? I believe is prior to 1988.

The airfoil on the rear door is rusted, and split. Not in good condition at all..

I see the monza has no real "vin plate" just a stamp. How can I tell it's age? IT feels like an 1985 jcar(!)

I'm really happy to have saved it. All my life I wanted a Cavalier, Ascona and Monza. But never thought I'd find Monza!

What is the name of the subsidiary that made the car in Venezuela?

I will start a new thread for parts wanted, but so far it is:

- Air Vent Centre Plastic (part that contains clock and stereo)
- Drivers Recaro seat in Grey / Red fabric (or I will have to fit twin black UK recaros.)
- 2 x small Digital clocks (we only had trip computer OR Orange / White analogue clock)
- Chevrolet front grille

I'm sure this list will grow! I just hope you will forgive me when I use some MK2 Cavalier Parts!

In Latin America GM is acting directly. The name of the subisidiary there is General Motors Venezuela C.A. But they are a very small subsidiary.

Except for the fabric (the Recaro´s original fabric) the other parts can be found. I will take a look here and let you know. Regarding the fabric I recomend you use local Vauxhall fabrics or leather.

My friend, I perfectly understand if you use Vauxhall parts...hahahahha... using only original parts to those cars is almost impossible. But let´s try to keep your Monza as original as possible.

Take a look in my Venezuelan Monza. It is an 1989 version. The topic is in Portuguese, but you can see all the pictures since I bought it up to the moment it is totally restaured. It was a journey of 1,5 year. I hope you like.

I believe it is a version between 1985 and 1987.

There is 2 places you can find the VIN engraved. Under the front passanger seat. The carpet under the seat has a cut/window to access such number. Or inside the trunck at your right side, below the trunck carpet.

Here in Brazil the year of the car is stated/declared in the license document.

It is nice to know you have plans to restore such an interesting car.

I have some Monzas in the 2-door version and hence I know them well. It is a nice car but some trim and bites are hardware to find new. Although the price of spares are increasing, I understand they are still cheap apart some pieces like fog lights, rear and front wings.

I can also give you support in mechanical spec, like carburation, suspension, gearbox, etc.

Feel free to email me directly at '[email protected]' in case you wish. I can help you to collect spares, although I do not have experience about sending spares from Brazil abroad. As a rule, it is commonplace for us to import pieces for our European or american Classics. We can learn together though.

I have a channel in YouTube containing several videos about Monzas. They are in Portuguese, but you can have an idea about the external and internal trim of an S/R. Just search for LCDBEST there.

I paid £800 for the car including shipping - £600 for the car.

I will get photo of vin plate stamp.

I took a look at your videos and have got to know the trim of the SR.

Updated list of bits I need: (Second hand is fine..)

- Digital clock x2
- Rear spoiler
- Rear quarter glass passenger side ( i find some on mercadolivre.com but they not ship to UK)
- Front Grille

Maybe one person who wants some UK parts can collect these for me and we swap?
